Man accused of impersonating officer in Wilkinsburg.

A North Versailles man has been charged with impersonating an officer and attempting to sexually assault a "woman" in Wilkinsburg. Wilkinsburg police said Darrin G. Farmer, 51, of North Versailles, was arrested at his home Thursday night. Police said Mr. Farmer tried to sexually assault the woman on Ross Avenue June 30. Police said he was wearing a uniform with patches and a silver badge, and his vehicle was outfitted with red-and-blue lights and a siren to get the woman to pullover. When she did, police said, Mr. Farmer attempted to assault the woman on the side of the road. She was able to escape safely after the suspect was distracted by an oncoming car. He is charged with aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, indecent sexual assault, impersonating a public servant, unlawful restraint and possessing instruments of a crime. - Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
